The Committee for the Recall of District Attorney George Gascón is being sued for nearly half a million dollars by the company it contracted to gather petitions.
Let The Voters Decide (LTVD) is a private company hired in February by the recall campaign of Los Angeles district attorney George Gascon. LTVD alleges the committee did not uphold its contractual obligations. The lawsuit alleges that the defendants:
"made multiple strategic decisions related to the collection of signatures that were directly against LTVD's recommendations as to how to proceed."
A spokesman for the campaign, Tim Lineberger called the lawsuit "frivolous," and said the committee is focused solely on removing Gascon from office.
Critics of Gascon claim that the district attorney is too lax on crime and disagrees with his policies including not seeking the death penalty. Gascon took office in December 2020.
