Dorothea Puente lived a life of lies and deceit. On the exterior, she was a seemingly sweet old lady running a boarding house in SanFrancisco from 1968 into the late 80s. But in reality, she was a thief and murderer that would use her kind demeanor to lure her vulnerable victims to their death. Puente would rent out rooms in her home to people who were struggling and vulnerable in some way, like those with drug addictions, disabilities, or the recently homeless.
In 1988 police found seven dead bodies buried in her backyard. Read more about her crimes here.
