When Patricia Johnson vanished in January 2001, she had a six-year-old daughter and a seven-year-old son.
“She’s got a great personality. She’s kind-hearted and loved her children very much,” her mother Marion Bryce said in 2001, a year before Johnson’s DNA would be found on Pickton’s farm.
It is estimated the missing women left behind about 75 children — some quite young, some school-aged and some adults — when they vanished.
