It's time to spread some positive vibes! The #SpreadPositiveVibes campaign was recently launched by the Orange County Health Care Agency with the goal of "[saving] lives by spreading positive vibes throughout the community…instead of spreading COVID-19."
Today's positive vibes guest is legendary Australian surfer Peter "PT" Townend! PT was the world's first Professional Surfing Champion back in 1976, and was an important figure in the sport when professional surfing was starting.
From 1976 to 1979 PT was ranked in the top 5 surfers in the world, and later would become involved in film and TV. He was inducted into the Surfing Walk of Fame and Surfers’ Hall of Fame in Huntington Beach, as well as the Australian Surfing Hall of Fame. In 2013 PT was given SIMA’s (Surf Industry Manufacturers Association) “Lifetime Achievement Award.”
