Science is often strange. We like strange things, and we also like science! That's why every Thursday at 1:35pm PT we dedicate two segments to all of the strange science news happening in the world.
Today's first story comes to us from Berlin, Germany, where police were baffled when they discovered a box full of vials of hamster DNA left on a train. Before they knew what was inside the box, a bomb squad was sent to investigate. When the vials stored in the styrofoam box were tested, forensic specialists determined they were full of genetic material from hamsters.
Police made the discovery public in hopes to find whoever left the box on the train, but so far no one has turned up. The vials have also been thrown away. That sounds like a total waste of perfectly good hamster DNA!
