If you were wondering why #FatShaming was trending on Twitter today, it's because of Nancy Pelosi's comments about President Trump's weight on her latest appearance on Anderson Cooper.
Cooper and Pelosi were discussing Trump's use of hydroxychloroquine when Pelosi said:
“He's our president and I would rather he not be taking something that has not been approved by the scientists, especially in his age group and in his, shall we say, weight group, morbidly obese, they say. So I think it's not a good idea."
To be considered morbidly obese you need to be 100 pounds over your ideal body weight and have a BMI of 40 or more. It doesn't seem that Trump actually is morbidly obese, but it still got us thinking. We decided to call our friend Dr. Now from TLC's My 600lb Life to discuss the matter further.
And, of course, Dr. Now checked in with Shannon to monitor her progress.
