Social distancing is still as strong as it was when it started a few weeks ago, but we're going to hit a point soon where we need to open things back up. We're not saying that we should go back to the way things were immediately, but there has to be a way to practice social distancing and still open up some more businesses, parts of the economy, and our way of life.
This Wednesday we're expecting Governor Newsom to provide more info on his plan to reopen California. Last week during his daily update at noon, he announced a plan consisting of six key points:
- Widespread expansion of testing
- Protection of California's most vulnerable residents
- Manage surges at hospitals and distribution of Personal Protective Equipment
- Involve researchers in academia and the private sector
- Rethink floor plans at schools, businesses, and other facilities with social distancing in mind
- Figuring out when to re-institute orders like Stay-At-Home
