The video conferencing service Zoom exploded practically over night thanks to all of us being stuck at home. It has become the go-to service for teachers, business meetings, and more.
It has also become the target of hackers unfortunately, who are breaking into chats and showing off some pretty disgusting stuff. Our tech expert Marc Saltzman has some tips on preventing this from happening to you, so you can Zoom in peace!
- Make sure you have the latest version of Zoom. Update your software!
- When creating a meeting, select the option allowing only the host to share the screen. This means nobody else can stream video to the meeting.
- View all of the participants ahead of the meeting in the 'Waiting Room.' You can manually select who you want in there one-by-one.
- Once everyone you want has joined, you can 'lock them in' so no weird new people can get into the meeting.
Listen to our segment with Marc Saltzman below, and may your Zooms go smoothly.
