The Covid Pandemic has affected so many families and it affected my life in such a different way than others. As a Single Dad, I was catering on the weekends to have extra money to assist in raising my daughter and when covid restrictions started the food supply was scarce at the markets. So in February of 2020 I started buying bulk items from meat vendors and selling it to friends and family to help others put food on the table. I started a Facebook group to communicate with each other and we had about 100 members. As covid got worse I had more families in need of help and our members started spreading the word To where I was having up to 150 families a weekend buying food from my house. In April of 2020 we started searching for a storefront because my garage could no longer hold enough freezers for our supplies. We now find ourselves with over 8,500 members and are about to open a 2nd store in El Monte.
Meat Homie is about providing families with top quality and fresh meats without having to pay an arm and a leg. We are also about our community and provide scholarships and sponsor Our local High School. I started a food pantry to assist families who are having financial problems so that we can make sure everyone can eat a warm meal. Take a listen
