See's Candies Suspends All Production Due To Coronavirus

For only the second time ever in their 99-year history, See's Candies has officially announced they will be suspending production because of the coronavirus pandemic. The last time they had to halt production was during World War II due to rationing.

“Given the current events with COVID-19, and our concern for the health and safety of our employees, we have made the decision to initiate an interruption once again,” the South San Francisco company said in a statement. “We will work to keep you updated as we develop plans to safely resume operations.”

The company also noted that any online orders placed, and not yet delivered, before the announcement will be refunded.

See's Candies opened their first store in Los Angeles back in 1921, and has been a California chocolate institution ever since.
