Chocolate Chip Squares

If you were tuned in to the show today, one of our listeners, Art O'Hare shared a family recipe that dates back from the 1970's. It has been past down for generations and he was gracious enough to share it with us!

Chocolate Chip Squares:

1 1/3 cup crisco

1 cup white sugar

1 cup brown sugar (packed)

3 cups flour (sifted)

2 eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking soda

12 oz bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375*.

In a mixer cream together shorting and sugar until light in color.

Add eggs and mix until combined.

Then add dry ingredients: flour, salt and baking soda.

Finally, add vanilla and chocolate chips. Mix until just combined.

Grease and flour a 9x13 pan and put batter into pan. Cook at 375* for 20-25 minutes.

Enjoy!
