Mary Rodee is a Canton Central School teacher and the mother of a teenage sextortion victim who died by suicide. She is fighting to keep children safer online and for greater parent awareness of the harms of social media since her son, Riley Basford, 15, Potsdam, killed himself in 2021 after he became a victim of an online sextortion scam on Facebook.
