Tensions between Azerbaijan and Armenia erupted late Saturday night, over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region this weekend. Both sides blame each other for attacking civilians, and claim to be reacting in retaliation. The former Soviet Bloc nations previously fought a war over the region, with Russia brokering a peace deal in 1994.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pahinyan claimed, via Twitter, that Armenia had "shot down 2 helicopters & 3 UAVs, destroyed 3 tanks," in response to attacks from Azerbaijan.

As a result, both countries voted to impose martial law.

Turkish President Erdogan sided with Azerbaijan on Twitter, claiming that Armenia posed "the biggest threat to peace and security in the region."

On Super Hyper Local Sunday, Bryan Suits broke down the situation, including the influence Turkey has on the conflict.
