DSP - Is the Leader of ISIS Dead?

Earlier, President Donald Trump made this cryptic tweet:

The tweet had no other context, but soon after, Newsweek reported that the president had approved a raid in Syria that would have targeted the ISIS leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

This was followed by reports that Baghdadi was killed in the raid.

A former senior counter-terrorism official made these comments:

"Baghdadi being in Syria follows his presumed pattern of life operating between Iraq and Syria".
"If he is dead, that would be a tremendous blow to ISIS, especially if other seniors leaders were killed during this operation."

Currently, it is believed that Baghdadi was killed by detonating a suicide vest while the raid was happening, according to ABC News.

This is not the first time that Baghdadi has been presumed wounded or dead. Since around 2014, there have been several rumors of Baghdadi being killed, but he would always release some audio with his recordings to "quash" those rumors.

The White House has not confirmed Baghdadi's death, so we have to wait and see.

But right now, you can listen to Bryan Suits talk to Tom Bigley, a former Delta Force operator, about the raid, Baghdadi's death, and when President Trump would have had to make plans for the raid.
