According to CNN, a recent study published in PLOS One found that a person's ability to maintain a vegetarian diet may be significantly influenced by genetics, which has been linked to four specific genes.
According to the study, some people may be more prone to a vegetarian diet than others. Genetics is at least a bit to blame because many people who want to be vegetarians cannot become one.
Future studies may determine who is or is not genetically prone to being a vegetarian, allowing for more specific dietary advice based on a person's genetic makeup.
