Prosecutors have initiated the filing of additional charges against two adolescents who are currently being held as adults in connection with the homicide of a retired former police chief from Southern California, who tragically lost his life while cycling along a Las Vegas thoroughfare.
These two teenagers, aged 18 and 16, are scheduled to appear before the court today in the wake of a series of what law enforcement characterizes as no fewer than three hit-and-run incidents that transpired just last month. The 18-year-old faces an array of charges, including five felonies and two misdemeanors, encompassing the serious charge of attempted murder.
Additionally, the 16-year-old defendant has seen a battery with a weapon charge appended to the existing counts of murder and attempted murder. Of significant note, the heinous nature of their actions was recorded in a video, where the culprits can be seen engaging in conversation and laughter as they callously struck down one of their victims.
