The wine industry has the potential to significantly diminish its carbon emissions by adopting an innovative paper bottle created by the UK-based company Frugalpac.
Weighing under three ounces, this paper bottle is five times lighter than conventional glass bottles, thereby reducing fuel consumption and emissions during transportation.
According to Frugalpac's product director, JP Grogan, "The overall carbon footprint is much, much lower on a paper bottle than it is on the equivalent glass bottle. We believe it's up to six times lower.”
Inside the paper bottle, a plastic pouch securely holds the wine without affecting its taste.
