The Glendale Fire Department is getting creative with their brush fire prevention strategy. Over 300 goats will be placed through a designated area in the Glendale hillside, so they can start eating invasive grass and dried brush to prevent wildfires.

Goats have an endless appetite and will quickly devour wildfire fuel such as tall weeds, bushes and low hanging tree leaves, which makes them an ideal and environmentally friendly alternative to heavy equipment and herbicides.

Since, October is around the corner, and that’s when brush fire season sparks all the way through December.
