Kevin Spacey Accused of Sexual Indecency with 14 Year Old

"I honestly do not remember the encounter, it would have been over 30 years ago..."

- Kevin Spacey

Kevin Spacey has been accused of inappropriate sexual behavior with a minor.  He claims that he does not remember the encounter.

The House of Cards star was called out by the victim, then 14 year old child actor Anthony Rapp.

Rapp, now 46, who is currently one of the main actors in Star Trek: Discovery, spoke with Buzzfeed News to give a detailed account of an incident which occurred between him and Spacey at a party in 1986.

What happened?

In the article, Anthony Rapp claims that a drunk, 26 year old Kevin Spacey entered a room in which he had been watching TV by himself:

"[Spacey] sort of stood in the doorway, kind of swaying.  My impression when he came in the room was that he was drunk...picked me up like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold.  But I don't, like, squirm away initially, because I'm like, 'What's going on?' And then he lays down on top of me."

- Anthony Rapp

He further reported that Spacey "was like, pressing into" him, "tightening his arms" and that "it was a frozen moment."

Rapp also recalled the shock he felt after the encounter, when he saw Spacey on the big screen in theaters:

"I literally jumped out of my seat, like somebody had jolted me with a cattle prod...It was this double whammy of, like, wait a second, that guy. And then it was coupled with the fact that his character was coming on to Melanie Griffith drunkenly. … It was a profound jolt to my system.”

- Anthony Rapp

Spacey took to Twitter to post his official response to the allegations, citing mainly the fact that the incident took place more than 30 years ago.  In what some might call peculiar timing, he also took the opportunity to publicly declare that he's gay:

Just minutes after Spacey posted his explanatory apology, Anthony Rapp (apparently inundated with messages and questions about the encounter) attempted to make a final statement to help quell the initial uproar:

The Internet, however, had some serious qualms with Spacey for using his apology as a means to come out.  The coming out aspect of the apology seemed only to serve the purpose of distracting readers from the main story, and an onslaught of Tweets are now coming out to this effect:

To add insult to injury, Spacey's Hollywood colleagues are expressing their distaste with his apology:

Actress Rose McGowan, so prominent these days due to her involvement in exposing Harvey Weinstein, put her two cents on Twitter for everyone to see:
