A large clear bag filled with joints sits on a table as DCMJ's Nicholas Schueller prepares for Trump's inauguration. He and some volunteers are handing the weed out on Friday morning as a show of 'civil disobedience."
The joints will be handed out legally on Friday morning before Donald Trump takes office. Washington D.C. decriminalized marijuana in 2014 making it possible for people to smoke them on the National Mall. D.C. allows adults over the age of 21 to possess up to two ounces of marijuana and cultivate up to 6 plants at home.
"This is actually grown right here at this house in Washington D.C." Schueller says. "We're handing out the joints to raise awareness about the fact that California legalized (marijuana) and the Trump administration has yet to say a word about cannabis reform."
