STUDIO CITY (CNS) - Police Wednesday are searching for a suspect who allegedly stabbed a passenger on a Metro B Line Universal City/ Studio City Station train in Studio City and left the scene.
Los Angeles Police Department officers were called to the station at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday near Lankershim Boulevard where they learned the suspect stabbed the passenger after an altercation on the train, NBC 4 reported.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were called to the station and took the victim to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The suspect was last seen walking toward Ventura and Lankershim boulevards.
NBC 4 reported the Metro station was closed for several hours while police investigated the stabbing and reopened after 4 a.m. Wednesday.
"Metro extends its wishes for a quick recovery to the victim and thanks [to] the Los Angeles Police and Fire Departments for their prompt response," Metro Communications Director Dave Sotero told City New Service.
The LAPD's Transit Division is investigating the stabbing.
