LA County Gas Prices Drop for 37th Consecutive Day

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Sunday for the 37th consecutive day, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $5.262.

The average price has dropped $1.053 over the past 37 days, including 1.6 cents Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The streak follows a run of 23 increases in 25 days totaling 91.8 cents.

The streak is the longest since a 38-day streak from Nov. 11-Dec. 18, 2022, totaling $1.058.

The average price is 14.8 cents less than one week ago, 88.3 cents lower than one month ago and 26.5 cents cheaper than one year ago. It has dropped $1.232 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 35th time in 37 days, decreasing 1 cent to $5.085. It has dropped $1.203 over the past 37 days, including 1.4 cents Saturday.

The Orange County average price is 13 cents less than one week ago, 92.5 cents lower than one month ago and 33.5 cents cheaper than one year ago. It has dropped $1.374 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped for the 38th consecutive day and 46th time in 48 days, decreasing a half-cent to $3.421. It has dropped 46 cents over the past 48 days, including 1.2 cents Saturday.

The national average price is 7.5 cents less than one week ago, 34.7 cents lower than one month ago and 37.6 cents cheaper than one year ago. It has dropped $1.595 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
