LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A home-invasion robbery at a South Los Angeles apartment led to a shooting that injured one suspect Friday, while three other people were taken into custody.
According to police, the robbery occurred shortly after noon, when four people forced their way into an apartment near 32nd Street and Central Avenue and tied up the man inside.
The man was able to free himself, escape from the apartment and call 911, police said. He told responding officer the assailants were still in his apartment.
Two suspects were quickly apprehended, but a third jumped from the building toward officers while armed with a hammer, prompting at least one officer to open fire, police said.
That suspect was taken to a hospital in unknown condition.
The fourth suspect was also ultimately arrested, police said.
The victim of the robbery was not seriously injured.
