TSA Confiscated Record Number Of Guns In 2022

  • Over 6,542 weapons - about 18 per day - were intercepted at TSA checkpoints last year.
  • Experts say nearly every case involved a traveler who claims they forgot they had a gun with them.
  • The penalty for getting caught with a gun, even accidentally, is steep - with a maximum fine of nearly $15,000.
