Man Charged with Sexually Assaulting 3 Girls in Costa Mesa, Santa Ana

SANTA ANA (CNS) - A 42-year-old Santa Ana man has pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting three girls in Costa Mesa and Santa Ana, according to court records obtained Friday.

Jose Antonio Orellana pleaded not guilty Thursday to four counts of sexual intercourse or sodomy with a child 10 years or younger, a count of lewd or lascivious acts with a minor younger than 14 and a count of lewd act on a child 14 or 15, all felonies, according to court records.

Orellana is accused of attacking two girls in June 2014 and a third in April of this year.

He was arrested Nov. 4 after charges were filed in August, according to court records. He is next due in court Feb. 17 for a pretrial hearing at the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana.

Requests for details left with the Orange County District Attorney's Office on Friday were not immediately returned.
