Poll: Most Americans Blame Colleges For High Costs

It looks like most Americans blame colleges and universities for the rising cost of higher education...

A new NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ poll shows that just over half of those surveyed said colleges and universities bear the most responsibility for the rising cost of attending school.

About one in five said the federal government is to blame.

And almost 70-percent of respondents somewhat or strongly support directing more public funds into higher education institutions.

The poll also found student loan forgiveness has become a highly partisan issue, with 30-percent of Republicans and 40-percent of independents saying student loan debt is a major problem in the United States... Fifty-six-percent of Democrats think the same.
