Motorist with Gunshot Wound Found Dead on Long Beach (710) Freeway Ramp

LONG BEACH (CNS) - A woman who had been shot was found dead Tuesday inside a black SUV that crashed on an offramp from the southbound Long Beach (710) Freeway in Long Beach.

Officers sent to the Anaheim Street offramp about 2:30 a.m. found the woman dead at the scene behind the wheel of the SUV, according to the California Highway Patrol. Her name was withheld, pending notification of relatives.

The woman had suffered at least one gunshot wound to her upper body, according to Fox11, which reported that the black SUV she was driving had Nevada license plates.

There was no immediate information available on a possible suspect in the shooting. It was unclear whether the woman died from the gunshot wound or the resulting crash.
