Hackers have managed to steal $100 million in cryptocurrency from a California firm called Harmony, authorities say.

The digital thieves made off with the loot by breaking into a "bridge," which is a program that allows customers to transfer crypto.

In a statement issued Friday, the company says it's "working around the clock as we continue our investigation alongside the FBI and multiple cyber security firms."

Harmony is among several U.S. companies that have been targeted by hackers...

Since the beginning of the year, more than $1 billion has been stolen from cryptocurrency bridges, according to transaction tracker Elliptic.
