Woman Killed, Man Injured in South Los Angeles Shooting

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A woman in her 20s was killed and a man injured today in a shooting in South Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Police Department officers were called about 3:20 p.m. to the area of Florence and Western avenues, near Mann UCLA Community School, on reports of an assault with a deadly weapon and found the two victims suffering from gunshot wounds at the scene, according to the department.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was withheld pending notification of her next of kin.

The man was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Details on what led up to the shooting were not clear, and no suspect description was available.
