LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Vice President Kamala Harris will speak at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in Brentwood tonight, hours after taking a tour of the operations center at Vandenberg Space Force Base on California's Central Coast.

The fundraiser will be held at the home of Dana Walden, the chairman of entertainment for Walt Disney Television, and her husband Matt.

Harris arrived at Los Angeles International Airport aboard Air Force 2 at 6:32 p.m, accompanied by her husband, Doug Emhoff. Harris and Emhoff deplaned at 6:42 p.m. and left by motorcade at 6:45 p.m.

The couple live in Brentwood and will likely spend the night at their home, although the White House did not immediately elaborate on their departure plans from Los Angeles.

During her visit to Vandenberg Monday afternoon, Harris announced that the United States commits not to conduct destructive, direct-ascent anti- satellite missile testing, and seeks to establish this as a new international norm for responsible behavior in space.

Harris also called on other nations to make similar commitments and to work together in establishing this as a norm, making the case that such efforts benefit all nations.

Vandenberg Space Force Base on Sunday was the scene of a rocket launch by Hawthorne-based SpaceX, which propelled a spy satellite into orbit for the National Reconnaissance Office.
