Jane Yamamoto - Anchor

Jane Yamamoto is a Southern California native with a career in journalism spanning nearly three decades.  She is currently part of the news team at KFI-AM 640, an iHeart radio station providing stimulating talk and news in Los Angeles.

Prior to joining KFI, Jane was a recognized television personality and one of the most respected reporters covering news in Southern California. Most recently, Jane worked at KNBC-TV as a broadcast news reporter. For nearly a decade she showed her skillfulness on stories, live shots, and one-on-one interviews for the highly-rated NBC affiliate in Los Angeles.

Jane also worked as a general assignment reporter for the Emmy Award-winning FOX11 new team in Los Angeles. From 1996 to 2011, she covered everything from breaking news to sports, and entertainment. She was also FOX11’s primary correspondent for American Idol and  X-factor.  

Jane has been an advocate for educating, connecting, and empowering Asian Americans in the media and entertainment industry as a member of the Asian American Journalists Association and a supporter of CAPE (Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment).

Her talents as a broadcast journalist also provided Jane the opportunity to appear in several films, TV shows, and music videos including X-FilesPrison BreakThe Sarah Silverman ProjectAmerica’s SweetheartsForgot about Dre, and Eminem’s Stan.

Jane is a graduate of UCLA, where she was recruited as a member of the UCLA Women’s Golf Team. She is still an avid golfer and enjoys competing in tournaments.
