Have you heard of the "Ghost of Kyiv"?

Social media has gone absolutely crazy with rumors of the Ukranian MiG-29 fighter pilot who has been dubbed the "Ghost of Kyiv", a fighter pilot who apparently shot down SIX Russian fighter planes on the first day of combat between the two nations.
The question that so many are asking is... if these rumors are true, who is this mysterious pilot?

It was made known by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense via a tweet that retired pilots would be making a return to assist the air force with combat. This has caused many to believe the "Ghost of Kyiv" is a returning pilot. The tweet from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense read:

"Who knows, maybe one of them is the air avenger on the MiG-29, which is so often seen by Kyivites!”

To add to speculation about this air hero, former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko also took to Twitter posting a picture of the "Ghost of Kyiv" adding speculation to the rumors:

Not only did the former president take to Twitter to add fuel to the fire, but the official Ukraine Twitter account posted a 38-second video about the pilot:

It is important to mention that there has not been an official confirmation saying that this pilot actually exists, nor has anyone actually confirmed that a pilot downed six Russian planes on the first day of combat... but the rumors are intriguing and have run rampant on social media.

It is also worth mentioning that some aviation experts are doubtful about the rumors of a fighter pilot dowing six planes in one day, but it's not impossible.
