The family of late cinematographer Halyna Hutchins have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Alec Baldwin and the producers of Rust.

Hutchins was accidentally shot and killed by Baldwin while filming a movie scene in New Mexico. Director Joel Souza was also struck by the bullet.

The suit alleges that producers cut corners on safety protocols, and accuses Baldwin of acting "recklessly".

The "reckless conduct and cost-cutting measures" of Baldwin and the film's producers "led to the death of Halyna Hutchins," attorney Brian Pannish said.

The suit was filed in New Mexico on behalf of Hutchins' husband Matthew and nine-year-old son Andros.
