Wounded Person In Huntington Beach Shooting Dies Today

HUNTINGTON BEACH (CNS) - A  man who was found shot at a Huntington Beach apartment has died today, Huntington Beach police reported.  

He was pronounced dead around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, police said.  

At 10:09 p.m. Saturday, Huntington Beach police issued an advisory, saying, ``Due to ongoing investigation, we are asking the public to avoid the 17000 block of Koledo (Lane) & the surrounding area.''  

The tweet added that there was no current public safety threat in the area.  

At 10:50 p.m., police spokeswoman Jennifer Carey told City News Service that officers had located a person suffering from a gunshot wound and that ``We are still early on in the investigation and do not have anything further to add at this time.''  

The man's name will be withheld pending notification of his next of kin. His age was not released.  

A motive for the shooting was unknown. No suspect information was available.
