HAWTHORNE (CNS) - County authorities today identified a 37-year-old man who was killed in a freeway motorcycle accident.

Jeffery Lanie was identified as one of the victims of the freeway crash by the Los Angeles County Coroner's office.

The fatal accident occurred a little before 11 a.m. Sunday when a motorcycle that Lanie was riding rear-ended a vehicle on the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway in Hawthorne west of El Segundo Boulevard, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Another person was also injured in the crash and taken to a hospital with unknown injuries, the CHP said.

It is unclear if Lanie was the motorcyclist or the passenger.

According to the coroner's office, Lanie's cause of death was due to multiple traumatic injuries.

The accident blocked traffic on all but the two right lanes of the northbound 405 Freeway between the 105 Freeway and Century Boulevard.
