Average LA County Gas Price Extends Run of Stability

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped two-tenths of a cent today to $4.675, the fourth consecutive day it has changed by two-tenths of a cent or less.

The average price is three-tenths of a cent less than one week ago and four-tenths of a cent lower than one month ago but $1.352 higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped 4.1 cents since hitting the record high of $4.716 on Nov. 27. The average price rose one-tenth of a cent on Friday and two-tenths of a cent on Thursday and dropped one-tenth of a cent on Wednesday.

The Orange County average price dropped six-tenths of a cent to $4.652, one day after recording its largest increase since Nov. 26, seven-tenths of a cent. It is three-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, four- tenths of a cent higher than one month ago and $1.345 greater than one year ago.  The Orange County average price has dropped 3.7 cents since rising to $4.689 on Nov. 26, one-tenth of a cent less than the record set on Oct. 8, 2012.
