Man Shot in Robbery in Long Beach, Gunman Remains At Large

LONG BEACH (CNS) - A man who was walking down an alley in Central Long Beach was shot in the chest during a robbery, and the gunman was at large, police said today.

The shooting in the area of 14th Street and Long Beach Boulevard near the Michael K. Green skate park was reported at 11:36 p.m. Wednesday, Long Beach Police said.

The wounded man transported himself to a hospital, according to police spokeswoman Allison Gallagher.

The victim told police he was confronted by three men, one with a handgun. The man's wounds were not considered life-threatening, Gallagher said.

No suspect information was immediately available, she said.
