A high school football player in Canton, Ohio -- who says coaches forced him to eat pizza covered with pepperoni grease against his religious beliefs -- is now suing that former school district and coaches.
According to the lawsuit, the coaches’ “antisemitic and shameful” actions caused the teen “substantial permanent injury."

The lawsuit also states the coaches knew the athlete doesn't eat pork or pork residue as a member of the Hebrew Israelite religious faith, but that they ordered him to eat the pizza as a punishment for missing a workout anyway... An attorney representing the coaches said the allegations are false.
The school board voted not to renew the contracts of four coaches after the alleged incident.
