Judge Stops California From Releasing Repeat Offenders Early

On Wednesday, a judge blocked the state of California from releasing repeat offenders from prison early!

State officials wanted to boost 'good conduct credits' to give second-time offenders of nonviolent crimes two-thirds off their sentences... However, this week a Sacramento County judge imposed a temporary restraining order, blocking the change until a hearing is held next month.

“Many of these so-called nonviolent second-strikers have long and violent criminal histories — including repeat felony domestic violence convictions, sexual assaults and gun violence,” said Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert.
