LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A person suspected of kidnapping a child was taken into custody in South Los Angeles tonight after leading police on a pursuit.
Los Angeles Police Department officers began pursuing the suspect driving a white SUV with one child inside in the area of Imperial Highway and Broadway, KCAL9 reported just after 8:30 p.m.
The suspect led police westbound on Imperial Highway toward Los Angeles International Airport before looping back and stopping in a driveway in the area of East 95th Street and South Main Street about 9 p.m.
The suspect exited and re-entered the SUV several times before LAPD officers advanced and took them into custody about 9:05 p.m. Officers also removed one child from the SUV and took them into protective custody.
