Good Samaritan Saves Pets From House Fire, Alerts Homeowners via Ring Cam

A California family is crediting a jogger for saving their home and pets from a fire.

Courtney Polito says when her family was out of town their Ring doorbell camera was alerted by a man running around the front yard..

"I saw him running back and forth...So I answered it and he said, 'Hello, do you see there's smoke coming out of the top of your house?'"

After hearing the smoke alarms through the camera, Polito gave him the code to get inside to rescue their pets; two dachshunds, a rabbit and a cat.

The fire department was called and thanks to the fast acting jogger, the fire was contained to the garage causing minimal damage to the rest of the home.

The man took off before he could be thanked, but Polito says she's thankful for his kindness and bravery.

"I want to give him a hug...I'll bring him to lunch. I'll bring him dinner. I don't know ... I just want to thank him so much and let him know how thankful we are. My kids, my husband, we would be devastated if we lost our pets, let alone our home."
