LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The coroner today released the name of one of two motorcyclists killed in two, unrelated crashes in Los Angeles County occurring within minutes of each other.

William Seidel Jr., 42, of Stevenson Ranch was killed in a crash reported at 5:24 a.m. Sunday involving a vehicle on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway, north of the Foothill (210) Freeway in Granada Hills, the coroner and the California Highway Patrol reported.

Seidel was riding a 2000 Honda CBR 600 northbound in the No. 1 lane and struck a pickup truck while changing lanes, the CHP said. He was ejected from the Honda and into traffic lanes, where he was struck by passing vehicles. Seidel was pronounced dead at the scene.

The CHP's Newhall area office urged anyone with information regarding the Granada Hills crash to call them at 661-600-1600.

The second deadly crash, which also involved another vehicle, occurred at 5:31 a.m. on the eastbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway at Via Verde in San Dimas.
