United Airlines Follows through on Threat; Fires 593 Unvaccinated Employees

One day after United Airlines officials announced it would be firing nearly 600 employees for not complying with the company's vaccine mandate, they've followed through on the threat.

  • A total of 593 United employees are now out of work, the company revealed Wednesday. All failed to get vaccinated by the Monday deadline, company officials say.
  • That's not to say United has been left in lurch; the fired employees comprised just 1 percent of the airlines' workforce, according to CEO Scott Kirby.
  • Would you give up your job just so you could avoid getting vaccinated?
