Man Struck, Killed Crossing Freeway Lanes in San Juan Capistrano

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO (CNS) - A man was killed while running across lanes of the San Diego (5) Freeway in San Juan Capistrano, authorities said today.

About 8:05 p.m. Sunday, witnesses reported a shirtless man was hit by at least one vehicle while running from the right shoulder toward the center divider of the northbound 5 Freeway at the Pacific Coast Highway exit, according to the California Highway Patrol.

He was described as Hispanic, in his late 20s or early 30s, with no shirt, blue pants and something around his neck.

A SigAlert was issued at 8:49 p.m. shutting down all but the HOV lane and the number one lane.
