Homicide Suspect Barricaded in Arlington Heights Area

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A homicide suspect was barricaded today in the Arlington Heights area, authorities said.

Officers went to the 2300 block of Venice Boulevard at about 8:15 a.m. on a report of an assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police were told the suspect was in his 20s, about 5-feet-8 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. Officers established a command post at 20th Street and Mariposa Avenue, and traffic was routed away from the area.

Details were not immediately available on the homicide.
