Man Shot and Critically Wounded in Culver City; Investigation Underway

CULVER CITY (CNS) - A man was shot and critically wounded early today in Culver City, and the assailant was at large, police reported.

Officers went to Keystone Avenue and Culver Boulevard on a 911 call about 2:45 a.m.

“The reporting party stated that they heard gunshots and observed a male ... drop a handgun in the street,'' according toa Culver City Police Department statement. “Moments later, a dark-colored possible Dodge Charger arrived, picked up the subject, and fled the area in an unknown direction.''

Officers found a handgun, several shell casings, “and a significant amount of blood in the area,'' according to police.

“Moments later, CCPD dispatch advised that there was a gunshot victim at a local area hospital. CCPD officers responded to the hospital and located a subject suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.''

The man was listed in critical condition, police said.
