British troops stationed in Kabul have confirmed a disturbing story that's been circulating social media in recent days: Afghanistan women really are throwing their babies over a razor wire fence, in hopes that soldiers will catch them and take them out of the country...
“The mothers were desperate," an unidentified officer tells the U.K.'s Sky News. "They were getting beaten by the Taliban. They shouted, ‘Save my baby’ and threw the babies at us. Some of the babies fell on the barbed wire. It was awful what happened. By the end of the night there wasn’t one man among us who was not crying."
Earlier this week, a viral video showed a crowd lifting a baby over the wire and handing the child to a U.S. soldier...
Thankfully, the Pentagon is now reporting that the baby was reunited with the father.
