Body Discovered Near Harbor Freeway in Downtown Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A body was found today near the Harbor (110) Freeway in downtown Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Fire Department units responded just after 2:25 p.m. to the intersection of South Figueroa and Sixth streets on an emergency call, said department spokesperson Brian Humphrey.

Arriving paramedics were flagged down by a bystander who led them to the location where a person was lying unconscious and not breathing. The unidentified person was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death was not immediately known.

The Sixth Street off-ramp of the northbound Harbor Freeway was shut down for at least an hour as authorities investigated, Caltrans announced just before 3:40 p.m.
