Four Men Hospitalized in Shooting in Playa del Rey Area

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A shooting at a homeless encampment in the Playa del Rey area today left four men hospitalized.

The Los Angeles Police Department dispatched officers to the encampment near the Ballona Wetlands on Jefferson Boulevard, between Culver Boulevard and Lincoln Boulevard, at about 5:40 a.m. after receiving numerous calls regarding the shooting, according a department statement.

Four men were found at the scene suffering gunshot wounds and were taken to a hospital. The LAPD initially said two of the men were listed in stable condition, but reported at about 5:45 p.m. that all of the victims were in stable condition.

Police said all of the men injured in the shooting were believed to be homeless, but the shooting “[did] not appear to be related to this fact.''

Authorities were seeking two suspects in connection with the shooting, police said. No suspect description or motive was provided.
