LONG BEACH (CNS) - Long Beach police today sought public help to find two motorists involved in the fatal injury of a pedestrian.

The woman was hit by two vehicles about 8:35 p.m. Thursday at Seventh Street and Dawson Avenue and died at a hospital, according to the Long Beach Police Department. Her name was withheld, pending notification of her relatives.

“The preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was walking northbound across Seventh Street in the east unmarked crosswalk at Dawson Avenue ... (and) was struck by a white Toyota truck that was traveling eastbound on Seventh Street,'' police said in a statement.

The truck driver kept going, police said.

“After the pedestrian was struck by the vehicle, she was lying in the eastbound lanes of Seventh Street,'' police said. “A blue sport utility vehicle ran over the pedestrian and fled the scene.''
